Q: Is there an age limit?
A: Yes. Unfortunatly for the youngsters, you have to be 18 years or older to participate.
Q: Will there be Internet?!
A: Yes, in the conference area, but it will only be 3G/4G and some places no internet at all. Divided between 100 participants, you can guess how fast the WIFI is going to be. So take your precautions, and come prepared with the assets and software you need! You can also use your phone as a hotspot.
Q: Do I need to bring towels?
A: You will get towels at the boat, and you can ask for extra in the reception.
Q: I will arrive early. Where can I store my luggage in Tromsø?
A: The mall called Nerstranda Senter (Strandgata 9, 9008 Tromsø) should have luggage storage. We also have room for your luggage at the venue during the kickoff, open from 8PM.
Q: What if I become seasick?
A: If you're worried you should bring some pills to prevent seasickness (take them before you enter the boat). Ginger should also be very good to prevent sea sickness or to calm your stomach. If you start feeling queazy, lie down as soon as possible (even on the conference floor) to prevent it from lasting longer than necessary.
Q: Are meals included in the jam ticket?
A: Yes! You will get a fantastic breakfast, lunch and dinner. There will also be coffee and tea available during the jam. Drinks are not included with dinner.
Q: Will there be a heated pool and jacuzzi on deck?
A: Yes! So if you want to brainstorm game ideas in the water you should bring your bathing suit.
Q: Who will pay for drinks I order by the table during dinner?
A: You will! To avoid queuing we recommend that you connect your credit card to your cruise card in the reception, and pay for all the drinks and other extras when you leave the boat.
Q: I have allergies or other preferences regarding food. Halp?
A: No worries! We’ll take care of it. Please let us know of any allergies or preferences when you order your ticket for the jam. Note that perhaps not all types of allergies or preferences can be accommodated, but we'll try our very best.
Q: Will there be food at the kickoff?
A: Unfortunately no, but there will be drinks.
Q: Can I bring my own snacks?
A: Yes. Note that most cabins don't have fridges, though.

Q: Will you have any equipment available for the game jam?
A: You have to bring all the equipment you need for the jam yourself, including an extension chord. We will provide coffee and fun stuff!
Q: What kind of charger should I bring?
A: Norwegian standards are 220-240 volt type C Europlug or type E/F Schuko. Get a converter if you don’t have one.
Q: Will I see northern lights?
A: We can’t guarantee it, but we sure hope so!
Q: Can I share a cabin with my BFF?
A: Sure, just leave a comment when you buy your ticket with the name of the person you want to share a cabin with.
Q: Can I get a single cabin?
A: Yes, but it will cost extra. We have a few available when ordering your ticket.
Q: How do I get from the airport to the city centre in Tromsø?
A: You can take bus 42, a taxi or the airport shuttle bus. The shuttle bus and taxi takes credit card, but the local bus takes only cash (50 NOK) or you can pay with the app "TFT Mobillett". The ride takes about 10 minutes.
Q: How do I get to the airport in Trondheim?
A: There are airport shuttle buses going every 10 minutes from several places in the city centre, and they take credit card. The ride takes about 40 minutes.
Q: Do I need cash in Norway?
A: It would be smart to have some for the bus, otherwise normally all places accepts credit card.
Q: What else should I bring?
A: To make a quick summary; bring your preferred jamming device, the software and assets you need, a USB-pen for file transfers and an extension chord. A water bottle might be smart too.
